We stopped at a café/bookstore, El Péndulo, where Steve bought a puzzle of a giant Orozco mural in honor of the revolution. With my receipt, I received a discount card. You only get the discount if of scratch off the right answer to a quiz.

Here is the question:

Who is it? I want to get it right so I can get my discount next time.

  1. Immanuel Kant was born in 1724 in Königsberg, Prussia (since 1946 the city of Kaliningrad, Kaliningrad Oblast, Russia), as the fourth of nine children (four of them reached adulthood). Baptized ‘Emanuel’, he changed his name to ‘Immanuel'[5] after learning Hebrew. Contrary to a widespread myth that in his entire life he never traveled more than 10 miles (16 km) from Königsberg,[6] he worked between 1750 and 1754 as a “Hauslehrer” (tutor) in Judtschen[7] (now Veselovka, Russia, approx. 20 km) and in Groß-Arnsdorf[8] (now near Elbląg, Poland, approx. 105 km).

  11. It is wonderful to follow your adventures here! Ok, regarding your quiz, I must admit that I cheated with Wiki via Google. It was Immanuel Kant who was raised in the Prussian town of Konigsberg (now Russia). He changed his name to Immanuel after learning Hebrew. He wrote “Answering the Question: What is Enlightenment?” Hope you got the discount! 🙂

  13. Kant thank you all enough. Now I can go get my 5% discount on my coffee. We are taking an afternoon drizzle break (it has rained every afternoon), and Steve already has the borders of his jigsaw puzzle done.

    1. The images are really lovely from the camera with good detail in the highlights and shadows. Still working out best settings. I like the size of it and the great big images.
